White Pocket is an amazing treat! It is very remote and a bit difficult to get to but it is hard to stop looking at sandstone that is both beautiful and has swirls like it was once plastic. We’ll take you on this adventure with our drone and also explore the less used northern road between White Pocket and House Rock Road.

The Desert Bar! Strange Remote Outdoor Bar in Arizona
It wasn’t far off our route and seemed interesting and was. Hugely popular with vehicle licenses from many states and Canada in the parking area. It is a remodeled old mining camp made into a huge bar and kitchen complex with take-out only. The old bar itself is just for serving now, no seating indoors. I wish we flew the drone to show the big picture of all these buildings. The whole site has many different buildings hacked into one business

Arizona Scary Routes – Montana Mountain Loop Superstition Mountains Overlanding
What an adventure! The once graded road was washed out in many places and quite challenging. It was rare to find a place to turn around and retreat so no choice but to keep going forward. The choice here was to go slow and maybe roll sideways down the mountain side or hit the gas and somewhat jump it. The traction boards may have helped but the washout was so deep they probably wouldn’t have helped enough. The van handled all the washouts rather well, except the soft dirt and big rocks in combination was challenging at times.

Overlanding the Superstition Mountains Arizona! – Scenic Two Bar Ridge & Deer Hill
Big mountains, big views, cactus, a live stream, and two lakes. The tread was rocky and often steep but not too technical. We didn’t find the Lost Dutchman Mine.

Arizona Scary Routes – Overlanding Silver Creek Trail
The route I planned seemed easy. I was alone so sure, be extra careful. Except, I’m still me and manage to get into trouble even when trying not to. The route started off easy. Then a climb up a lava boulder hillside was crazy hard! When I tried to escape the Silver Creek trail I went down Indian Creek and into trouble. Watch our van do amazing feats, and suffer a bit.
